This vase is only available at the New Morning Gallery in Asheville, NC. This huge vase is 36 inches tall and 18 wide and weighs 35lbs. Its name is BAV (Big Ass Vase). It was so complicated and took 6 weeks to construct. Every time someone would ask “what’s new in the shop?” I would reply “I’m still working on that big ass vase” out of frustration as it was taking so long. I said it so many times, I decided that’s what its name should be. The woods used are Black Cherry, Black Walnut, Purple Heart, Padauk and Maple. The feature ring is Navaho inspired. It actually weighed 140lbs before I turned it on the lathe.
